Project Spotlight: Strom Thurmond Wellness Center, South Carolina

Luraline was chosen as one of the lighting manufacturers to provide fixtures for the Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

The rep for the project, The Schneider Company, of Greenville, SC, worked closely with Luraline to develop a custom interior lighting fixture based on a wall sconce from the Helos family.

The center, which opened last Spring after an eight-year process, serves as both a recreational center and a social hub for the university’s student population. It is located at the fourth-busiest intersection in South Carolina, not far from the state capitol.

Additional firms associated with the project include the electrical engineer and lighting design firm, Belka Engineering Associates, of Columbia, SC, and the electrical contractor, Gregory Electric of Columbia, SC.
