New Rep for Richmond, Va., Market

Newly formed agency Virginia Lighting Associates will represent Luraline in the Richmond, Virginia, area.

Lighting industry veteran Chip Tompkins founded Virginia Lighting Associates in November 2009, with the goal of partnering with the region’s design, construction and distribution communities on commercial, industrial and residential lighting projects.

According to Tompkins, he was immediately interested in working with Luraline Lighting as part of his new venture.

“Luraline is a natural fit for Virginia Lighting Associates,” Tompkins said. “Their extensive catalog and ability to be flexible to the needs of the customer provide a nice complement to our agency’s architectural-grade exterior accent and façade lighting products.”

Tompkins, formerly of Commonwealth Lighting, recognizes the challenges inherent in starting a new company in the current economic climate. However, he feels confident that VLA’s uncompromising commitment across all segments of their customer base will make them the agency of choice in the central Virginia market.
